| So..I've been married now for just over four weeks. Sometimes it feels like longer and sometimes it feels like it just happened yesterday. We're just trying to get used to living the simple life I guess. We go to work. We run errands. We go home to make dinner and do other various domestic stuff. And then the next day is very much the same. Maybe that sounds boring to you...and I know that if we were still doing this in a year or two, it would sound boring to us too. But, for now...I'm glad that we're starting out life together simply. And it's not all routine. Neither of us could handle that... Our weekends are packed til pretty near January. We're already planning future trips to places we've never been. We go on the occasional date after work. All and all...I love life right now, just the way it is.

| Sooo...I think I may rejoin the xanga world. Not really for anyone's benefit but my own, seeing as how I could count on one hand the number of people I know that still use this thing. However...I have found that my writing creativity has been sorely lacking since I gave this up. I'm not entirely sure why that is, except for the fact that I pull out my computer a lot more often than I do my notebook and pen. I have also always enjoyed the effortless use of the backspace button while recording my thoughts. Whatever the reason, I feel like I gain much from blogging and so I have returned.
I suppose I should start with a brief update of life. Last time I wrote I had just been proposed to by the love of my life. That love of mine, by the name of Winston, and I are now coming upon three weeks of married bliss. We honeymooned in Portland Oregon and the Oregon coast for a week before taking another week off of work for some leisurely time to get settled in our new home. Today is actually only my second day back at work since October 17th...the day before our wedding. It's rough coming back to reality after such a fairy tale sort of two weeks. Ahh well...such is life.
Speaking of work....Another new thing in my life is the job I now hold. I work at Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee. They do several school programs for kids of all grades, but I work with one called JA BizTown. It's a program that works with fifth graders teaching them hands on lessons about economics, business, and money. I know, I know....it sounds kinda boring, but actually I think it's the highlight of the year for most schools that participate. We have a miniature town set up in a warehouse room with fourteen businesses, a road, a tree, and a waterfall. The kids train at school for six weeks, learning about the jobs that are available, how to apply for them, how to interview for them (which they do with a principal or some other authority other than the teacher), and then how much it will cost to run the town for one or two days (depending on the school). They learn a basic business vocabulary and how to write checks and balance a checkbook. THEN....when they're all prepared they come to BizTown. Here they take out a loan from the bank in order to pay business expenses and then...they run the town...with a little training from us in the morning. We have retail stores, the bank, city hall, a restaurant, a radio station. etc. I just love it. I finally have a "real" job. One that's relevant to what I love to do. And finally, a job that doesn't require the words, " How many in your party?" or " Party of 5? Right this way". A job that doesn't involve memorizing table numbers, dealing with managers who are bitter towards the cruel world because their 40 and they've never gotten further than this, or coming home at night smelling like food.
Well, I think that's enough catch up for now. I'm feeling my thoughtful and creative juices flowing already. I do believe it's time for my mid-morning cup of coffee.

Tryin' on a brand new dress
But you haven't worn the old one yet
You've come too far
To turn around now
You've given up the good fight
You're as strong as anyone
You're back where you started from
I see you're back where you started from
Starin' down the stars
Jealous of the moon
You wish you could fly
Just being where you are
There's nothin' you can do
If you're too scared to try
Drag your pretty head around
Swearin' you're gonna drown
With a beautiful sigh
And a river of lies
Starin' down the stars
Jealous of the moon
You wish you could fly
Just stayin' where you are
There's nothin' you can do
If you're too scared to try
Why don't you call me, I could save you
Together we'll find a God we can pray to
That'll take you by the hand
I hate to see a friend of mine
Laughing out loud
When she's crying inside
But you've got your pride
Starin' down the stars
Jealous of the moon
You wish you could fly
But you're stayin' where you are
There's nothin' you can do
If you're too scared to try
You're starin' down the stars
Stay where you are
You're jealous of the moon
But there's nothing you can do
If you're too scared to try
